PS3 Rant: Games Taking Longer to Install?

Ever since the PS3 launched, I recall that games would take some time to decompress and install into the system.  That is perfectly fine.  I realize that games need to be compressed because they are on the online store and it behoves Sony to compress it and decompress once it is on your system.  I have, however, recently seen a longer wait time than normal for games to decompress and install.  It first hit me last week when the Simpson’s demo came out.  I swear I was waiting for some time before it decompressed fully.  I think I even nodded off while it did (okay I was tired but still!).   The games just sit there for a minute or two before it even starts to install.  It might be my imagination, but the  installation and decompression part seems to take longer than previously.  I assumed it was my huge amount of demos or games that are loaded on my PS3 so I systematically deleted a bunch of stuff (including videos) but it didn’t help.  I actually went back to games that I had previously installed and downloaded and it seems like they are taking longer than previously as well.  I think that there was an issue with the recent update/patch that is making demo/game installs take longer than normal.  I could suspect that is my hard drive and it is about to come to a halt but everything else seems to be as zippy as it once was.  In fact, the XMB actually seems faster than previous.   I hope it is code that they fix because if I nod off again while I am installing a game I am going for therapy lol.
