Dualshock 3=Dualshock 2
According to Sony, the rumble in the Dualshock 3 is exactly the same as the one that was in the Dualshock 2 controller. Many individuals have stated that the rumble was actually weaker in the Dualshock 2 after going to the TGS. They even went as far as stating that the rumble feature was actually more complex than dualshock 2 because it is more complex (through different parts of the controller). After the drop of the controller, Sony will provide an update that will include a backwards compatible roll out for existing and older PS3 games. I think that, as a consumer, they should at least switch out many of the dualshock 2’s with dualshock 3’s. Or, they could provide dualshock 3’s for 10 dollars if you trade in your dualshock 2. I would go for an option like that. Primarily because the dualshock 2 has that ridiculous issue with the controller going out and continuing to do one thing while you are in a heated battle in Warhawk and the stupid jerk who keeps killing you finally is in front of you wide open and i cant kill him because my controller goes out for a second and he turns around as soon as the controller comes back to normal and he kills me!!! GRRR!! Okay, i know i have issues lol
