My 10 Reasons for Being Attracted to the PS3

I feel that we are loosing a bit of interest on why we purchased a PS3.  I hear so much “lets see the big dawg fail” situations that I had to go back and remember why I purchased the PS3 initially. In no particular order, here is my list of reasons (this is pre and post purchase)

1.  Reliability (red ring of death anyone?) red ring

2.  Backwards Compatibility (Surprisingly this is not used as much as I would like but it was definitely something that looked for in the beginning)  PS2 GTA

3.  Not paying for wifi (I had a rant about wifi here and how much it sucked when I did get it but it was a reason nonetheless) wifi

4.  Blu-Ray (I would have to justify this when it came out but now…nuff’ said)bluray

5.  PS library (Again, this was an issue initially but faded when I realized I didn’t play old PS games so much) games

6.  multi media Options (this was a bit scarce in the beginning but Sony really did push forth the downloadable patches that made this a monster house multimedia machine.) multimedia

7.  It is a Playstation (I know, but looking back at the Playstation consoles, they have been better and better since the first Playstation and I will be honest, they didnt bring me down at all with this one)playstations

8.  Free Online (I think that online play should be free.  I am from the linux age and I really have to admit that I am a firm supporter of free software and free online playability) online

9.  Hard drives across the board (I cant tell you how PO’ed I was when I heard the rumor that the PS3 would make different consoles with hard drives and others with none.  What a blow to the gamer if a game came out and it required hard drive access). hd

10.  The PS3 black sexy look (When I saw the silver one it was meh but when I saw the black one with chrome, it made me want it more.  It didn’t dissapoint when it came out either.  It belongs in any sexy home entertainment system…..yes i am a man lol)look
