I tried the service this weekend and here is my suggestion. It seems as though the video service is on the same servers as the games. I came to this conclusion because I stopped a game download and started the video service and it downloaded with the same stream which is not good. I was only using about 1/2 of my bandwidth and the movie skipped and stopped 4 times. Granted, that’s not bad considering its a hour an a half movie. Then, I tried a HD video and that was insane. That took much longer and I could not stream it. My verdict…PS3 needs a netflix add on as well.

“Editor’s note, January 5, 2008: Because of the recent news that Warner Bros. Entertainment will be exclusively supporting Blu-ray, CNET recommends refraining from purchasing an HD DVD player in the near future. Exclusive support of Warner Bros. Entertainment gives Blu-ray a large advantage in terms of studio backing, leaving only Paramount and Universal as major studios releasing movies exclusively on the HD DVD format. This guide will be overhauled after CES to reflect this and any other news announced at the show. ”

If that doesn’t foretell the end of HD DVD I don’t know what does…

]]> http://www.ddps3.com/dd-ps3-videos/ps3-firmware-210/2007/12/19/feed/ 0 New GTA IV Video Look http://www.ddps3.com/dd-ps3-games/new-gta-iv-video-look/2007/12/11/ http://www.ddps3.com/dd-ps3-games/new-gta-iv-video-look/2007/12/11/#comments Tue, 11 Dec 2007 07:29:09 +0000 admin http://www.ddps3.com/dd-ps3-reviews/new-gta-iv-video-look/2007/12/11/ So I just downloaded the new GTA IV video and I have to say it looks pretty bad.  I am unsure what happened between when they first showed the game to the world to now, but it looks much more compressed (texturally) and it seems like they had to super compress it.  The conspiracy theorist in me reasons that GTA IV couldn’t be put on the Xbox 360 as is (along with the PS3 version which was stated by Rockstar) due to the disk space and they had to compress the visuals and textures even more so that they could squeeze it on the xbox 360 and then port it over to the PS3 as many game developers currently do.  I hope that is not the case but a part of me wouldn’t be surprised if that was the problem.  Do this, if you have a PS3, go check out the original video and then download the recent addition to the PSN and tell me what you think.  You will be sorely disappointed.

  8. Brightness has been added
  9. Settings for the network have been changed (and been improved)
  10. you can now print from multiple printers
  11. Vibration function has already been added
  12.  View videos as they are being downloaded
  13. Security has been added to the browser (perhaps a firewall?)
  14. Video chat and an option to add an eye toy
